THE TERMS
Hi, welcome to CANON.
Law school usually resumes around November. The first term begins in November. The first term usually lasts for a period of 4 weeks or more. It’s usually quite short. During the first term, the preliminary topics are usually taught. The first term ends in December or thereabout. During the first term, we were ushered into the law school with a cocktail dinner.
The second semester begins early January of the next year. Over 10 topics are treated in all the courses during the second term. It is usually the longest term and it is more stressful. We spent about 4 months in school or thereabout. The activities in the second term includes the mock trials, snap test and the law school dinner
After the second term came to an end, we were given a short break of two weeks before we began our externship. The externship is divided into court attachment and law firm attachment. It is usually for 10 weeks though. In a blink of an eye, the externship comes to an end.
The third term is usually very short. Time flies during this period. The activities usually include completion of the course outline, revision, snap tests, portfolio assessment and the bar final exams.
COOKIES; the first cookie is the handbook. the law school handbook which contains an an outline of topics in each course. The laws on administration of estates would be relevant in property law.
