EXTRACT:LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

          
'' Hi there, Couldn’t help it, I just had to come  and speak with the most beautiful girl in the room', Ron said and stared into her deep brown eyes.  She grinned as if she couldn’t wait to get rid of him. He was frantically bemused. He tried to recall the last time that line didn’t get him a flirtatious smile from a lady. He looked at her again.
              Can we talk over drinks? he leaned in till he was an inch from her face.  Yes. she babbled. he walked over to the bar to get some drinks but he didn’t miss the young lady in blue dress that came to speak to her. she sounded like a cheerleader encouraging the football team emphasizing each word and then repeating the sentence as if her life depended on it.  Shit, he muttered. He had forgotten to ask if she would take beer as he does or something else. he walked back to the table he left a short while ago. She didn’t turn to meet his eyes. She stared at the lady seated in front of her like a lost soul. He couldn’t help it she looked beautiful in her embroidered green shirt with the jeans. 'Forgot to ask you,what would you like to drink' .         'Water if they have any' , she said still avoiding his gaze. He had to resist the urge to burst out and inquire why she came to a club only to sit gloomily and ask for water. Before he could ask if that is all, her friend pinched her with her stiletto heel and stared her down.  She will have a cold bottle of beer she smiled at him and faced her friend.  Feisty one he thought.
