POEM: HOW IT PLEASED MY SOUL

How IT PLEASED MY SOUL
The morning and the noon calls you
Nigh, the river melts my rocky path
shadows, tis is the time I waited to see
the tune I longed to hear
how it pleased my soul.
Sand and the salt sent the sun on an errand
the wind chills the day
the day finds my bone comfortless
the burns on my skin
left by the scorching sun
how it pleased my soul.
Darkness died in the depth of dawn
daylight drove the dark sore
The horn and the dumb spoke as one
the blind saw the shimmering light
his sight clearer than the morning dew
how it pleased my soul.
ale, ale, I have been poisoned
aye, aye the captain breathes his last
the dead lives in the ocean
the ship, his solace
Wandering, his means of living
loneliness, his new best fellow
how it pleased my soul.
Void is emptiness, emptiness is void
purpose is man, man is purpose
choose your choices and cry into the core of the past
pry and pine, dine and wine, live and leave
impact, stares are written in the stars
cosmo salute and recall'em
how it pleased my soul.
Peace and perfect silence
the dead hath them all
its shell, the soil put to use
peace and perfect silence
the moment seeks
how it pleased my soul.
